After years of dreaming and discussion, in early 2023 we decided to strike out independently and establish our own event planning company. We have both a diverse and collective work history, with each of us having independent careers prior to a common experience curating and planning events at the same company for over a decade together.
Even more than shared professional lives, we have formed an incredibly close friendship and play a part in each other’s personal experiences with our families and social circles, making us a powerhouse duo to work with.
Born from this strong foundation of trust and familiarity, L & K Corporate Events is everything we have wanted to build together, we can’t wait to plan your next event!
Liz Cook is a highly skilled and experienced events executive with more than 20 years of experience in the industry. Throughout her career she has worked primarily as an internal corporate events planner and Department Head in the Financial Services sector, with early cross-over into the Luxury Watch space and coordination of events for a variety of clients including event planning company, Gavel International.
Liz began her career in Events after earning a double B.A. in Communications and Art History from Wake Forest University. She started as a Sports Marketing Coordinator at Rolex Watch, USA based in New York, where she thrived due to her exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
After moving from New York to Chicago and then on to Los Angeles, Liz took on the role of Senior Event Planner at AIG SunAmerica and quickly rose through the ranks into management. In this role, she was responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of large-scale events including conferences, product launches, and corporate retreats.
In 2009, Liz was recruited by American Realty Capital to serve as their Director of Corporate Events and built an Events team from the ground up. Liz was not only a leader to her team but also oversaw the planning and execution of all events and was instrumental in the successful launch of several new products.
Liz accepted a similar role at Griffin Capital in 2011 and remained there for over ten years. Her most recent position was as Director of Events at Apollo Global Management until 2022.
Liz resides in Manhattan Beach, California with her two boys and their family dog, Ollie.

Kelly is an accomplished corporate planner with 15+ years of experience. With a passion for creating unforgettable experiences, Kelly has worked as an in-house producer and planner for a variety of companies, mostly within financial services, including Griffin Capital Corporation and Apollo Global Management, to name a couple.
During the 11 years she spent at Griffin Capital, (where she also met Liz) Kelly was responsible for the creative direction and planning of both its sponsored and hosted events. Her experience ranges from designing and executing trade shows to developing successful, sales-generating symposiums, road shows and internal trainings.
At Apollo, she introduced a fresh category of events to drive sales within its newly acquired retail business. Most notably, she trained Apollo's events team on SEC and FINRA compliance laws as it relates to strict budgeting guidelines when hosting events for retail financial advisors. She also immersed herself in events geared toward institutional investors and internal departments.
Regardless of where Kelly has worked, she excels in the fine details like visual mood boards, distinct attendee communication, iPad app creation, thoughtful menu planning and more.
Kelly graduated from Sonoma State University in 2007 with a BA in History and resides in Torrance, California with her husband and four children.
